Witness, He also Grieves

Jeremiah 48: 36-38

 “So my heart laments for Moab like the music of a pipe;

It laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.

The wealth they acquired is gone.

Ever head is shaved

And every be

ard cut off;

Every hand is slashed

And every waist is covered with sackcloth.

On all the roof in Moab

And in the public squares

There is nothing but mourning,

For I have broken Moab

Like a jar that no one wants,” declares the LORD.

“The world is breaking,” You cry.

“Yes, it is.” Answer’s He.

“Why?” Your tears run down your face. “Oh, why! Lord, why!”

It breaks His heart, you should know.

He does not like to see His children suffer, cry and limp of pain.

Torture and defeat. But you must know.

You must know.

God grieves.

His heart heavy and weeps.

For His children are now living amongst the ruins.

And why?

Oh why?

In Jeremiah 48, God is casting upon His judgement to Moab.

A once great nation but now built upon riches and pride.

He is telling them that they will fall. They will be broken down. Ripped from their riches.

It will shatter and the children will weep.

For the fall of this once great nation, now built upon pride and material things.

Is being shattered, broken, but not erased.

Reading this scripture moved me, and not just in my heart but in my spirit.

God makes the tough decisions and although we may be hurt in the process, the pain is not forever.

He simply breaks down our pride and rips our bodies and minds from the vines wrapping around us, choking us at the throat, so that we may be free.

Nothing is ever done for nothing.

God is not the God of destruction.

Though he can level cities in seconds, He never takes pleasure in such decisions.

They break his heart, too.

But since you are in pain, you see Him as a monster and only see what is in front of you instead of what will grow from all of this—what will flourish!

No one ever sees or thinks what beauty will come of my ruin?

Why?

Because You are not God.

 You are human.

And that is okay.

But trust Him.

He will not leave you the place where your pride destroyed you.

He will meet you in the ruins and rebuild you.

For God grieves the fall of you.

The fall of Moab is proof.

Jeremiah 48 shows plainly what kind of Father he is to us.

Even His judgment carries sorrow, not cruelty.

Even after judgment, God’s heart is restoration.

He will never end a story in ruin.

So, grieve your loss, your destruction—your ruin.

But know that God is not done with you yet.

Because if He restored the fortunes of Moab in the days that came, what makes you think for you he will not do the same?
